Looking to buy an ipod classic or nano, anyone got any idea where I could find good deals right now?? Would best deals be on the apple website or in shops??

Wait until the new models are announced on Sep 9th and you'll get a better deal. Probably, the capacities will shuffle down the price scale, so you get the 'new' 32GB model for the price of the old 16Gb or whatever.

Not sure about the classic though.

I keep an old 20gb third generation iPod permanently hooked up to my car stereo and control it from the headunit. The iPod has gone a little flaky though. Is it possible to get decent second hand iPods without spent batteries. Because I live in the glove box all it will be doing is sending music to the stereo.

yeah the new line of iPods are annoucned in the coming week or so, the new iPod touch will be annoucned, so no doubt the price of the 2nd gen one will drop, so unless there are significant changes, then getting an older one brand new at the cheaper price could be a good move.

i also have my third gen 20 gig iPod still lying around, i bought a new battery of ebay for it, and its brought it a whole new lease of life, but since i got my iPhone i havent used it, gave it to my dad but he hasnt turned it on, so i'd possibly keep hold of it for the car also.
