I have a 99 Fiesta, when i accelerate to 60kph and also when i brake i get extreme vibration in the steering wheel.I took the car to a local fastfit and got the wheels balanced, also i got a safety check done, they said the brakediscs would need to be replaced soon but it wasnt essential.I am still getting strong vibrations when i accelerate to 60 and also when i brake!i only noticed tonight after a short drive that my left front wheel is extremely hot compared to the right hand side, does anyone have any idea what could cause this?

did fast fit do any work on the car? was the car doing this the reason you went to fast fit?

Ive seen badly worn suspension joints cause major shake problems if there is an underlying problem which would normally lead to a very small shake. So I would check bushes around the front suspension, get the alignment checked, balancing & the actual wheels themselves also. check if your brakes are sticking (as you say one wheel is hot), Check discs for warping.
Check drive shafts & cv joints.

Any time Ive come across this its almost always the bushes or the cv joints, altough with one wheel heating up your brake bias could need sorting

It could be either warped brake discs or your track rods need replacing.

Hey lads thanks for all the responses,i checked most that you advised and brought her down to fastfit this morning, left front brake pad was wafer thin by this stage, was an issue with the caliper apparently, they fixed her up and shes running perfectly now!:pac:
