Sky HD, Sky +, plus 3 unsubscribed Sky boxes

    Hi, i need a bit of info, I'm in the process of getting Sky HD for the living room, Sky plus for bedroom and i've been given 3 Sky boxes by a friend and family which i also wish to get connected up when the installer is here. I know there'll be an extra cost to do this but i'm just wondering if it can be done ?? All 3 boxes where working fine when replaced recently but have no cards. I know the most i can recieve is FTA or is it FTV but this is exactly what i need for 3 rooms. I also want to link off my Sky plus in bedroom to my kitchen by way of co-ax and magic eye, can i record/access all menus through magic eye ? Many thanks in advance sorry for all the questions, just trying to get it right first time:o P.s am i right in saying i need an octo LNB ? Thanks again

    Sky Hd Box: 2 leads
    Sky+ Box: 2 leads
    3 Sky Boxes: 3 leads (1 each)

    Total leads needed 7.

    Thanks Manutd, yeah had an idea i needed 7 leads, my first post wasn't exactly clear, what i need to know is will the sky boxes work without cards also will i be able to make full use of sky plus through magic eye ? Also if anyone has any other tips/advice please post. Thanks again Manutd

    yes they will run without cards.

    you can run the sky+ only with a multiroom sub

    so then you will have hd ,sky + and 3 boxes on freestuff.

    paying for hd, multiroom and whatever sub you want.

    installer will probably need to know in advance you need an octo lnb (extra charge again)

    hope thats clear.


    (you cant use the sky+without a sub)

    Thanks very much John mac thats cleared up most of it. Wasn't sure if they'd pick up free stuff without cards. I just need a heads us on the magic eye / tv link now i know how to set it up just wanna know will it allow me to record/and use all menus on sky plus box with sub or does it just allow the changing on channels. Thanks for the patience folks just new to the satellite world after years trying to master cable :o
