Just wondering if it's possible to get UK TV on digital by aerial in Meath?

Unsure exactly of your location but AFAIK DTT from Divis can be picked up in Louth and beyond with strong aerial and masthead amp.

Its been suggested here before that as a rough guide if you can get Channel 5 (Analouge UHF Ch 37) you should be able to get at least some freeview multiplexes.

Situation should greatly improve post switchover in NI when DTT power levels will be increaced

I'm picking Divis up near Kingscourt in Cavan, but it's occasionally patchy on some Muxes, and quite patchy all of the time on others.

I've a masthead amp, without which I get no digital signal at all.

    I (usually) get decent reception for the BBC Muxes [1 & B - ch29 & ch26], usually decent for the Muxes with Dave & Dave ja Vu [C & D - ch48 & ch34], sometimes ok for the UTV one [2 - 33] and seldom there for Five [A - ch23].
I'm intending to move the aerial at some stage to see does that help, as there's a line of trees directly on the same path as the signal currently. That'd give me the rest of the Five family of channels with decent reception, with any luck.

Seeing as I generally watch UK Channels on Satellite, I really only use the Freeview end of it for Dave at the moment, but it's been handy having both.

If you're in North Meath, I'd expect you to be able to pick something up, but if you're anywhere South of say Navan, it might be ropey enough. If you're over near the coast, you might pick it up from Wales handier, especially as the signal strength is going/gone up - not too sure though. You'd need a masthead amp either way, I'd say.

I meant to say as well - you'd want a Group K aerial to cover all the Muxes from Divis - you'd miss out on ch48 with just a Group A.

You're absolutely right although this will change at DSO when all channels will be within Group A AFAIK.
