I was in DID, they will do it for 999 when pushed. I see Pixamania is charging delivery also.

The best Power city would do was €1059. The one in Pixmania & DID probably do not have the MPEG4 Tuner.
Power city are not giving there the Sony trade in discount on top if their prices, it is alread built in and they say the discount is off the RRP. Pity really..

That's a decent enough price for that tv. You should take that price over the richersounds message board and ask them to better it. They usually do.

Does MPEG4 matter anymore? When will we ever see Irish digital tv, if ever?

Beware the 5500's...serious back lighting issues that weren't present with earlier Sony models.

    Google the reviews.

The Philips shop will do the current 42" Philips 7404 model for €800 for boardies. They are on the richersounds message board. I posted a link above in a reply to Dr. Nick.

And before anyone asks no I don't work for them :o. I've bought from them in the past and found their prices pretty good.

Btw I have a 22" LG. Nice tv and am happy with it. Don't know about their bigger tvs tho.
