Stolen Bike @ Drumcondra

    Hi there,

for what it's worth: my friend's bike was stolen yesterday, 22.08. sometime between 7 and 10 pm near the Crossguns Bridge at Prospect Road in Drumcondra.

It's a grayish-white gents audax/touring bike, brand "Thorn", model "Brevet". Since it's covered with red, yellow and blue reflective tape pieces, it's pretty conspicuous.

When it was stolen, it had a brown, pretty worn saddle that was repaired with black duct tape in a couple of places. The bike has flat bars and bar end stubs.

More info and photos can be found @ tinyurl.com/nickedbike.

If anybody should see it, or have some tips on what else to do (besides putting up notes in the internet and handing a description plus photos to the local bike repair shops), please let me know.

    Send an e-mail to nicked.bike@gmail.com or a text to 087 - 9 76 26 58.

    Any hints appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that. Keep an eye on gumtree.ie, donedeal.ie, ebay, etc to see if someone tries to sell it online. Nice bike.

    How was it locked?

    DFD.

    Thanks; will do.

It was locked with a Masterlock Street Cuff. Unfortunately, the lock tended to be unreliable: sometimes the mechanism didn't properly lock although it looked locked. This is probably what happened yesterday. My bike, which was locked with a Kryptonite Evolution Mini directly next to it wasn't touched. Can't recommend Masterlock after that episode.
