Just tuned in to see the GAA athletics relay, and got to see how much RTE respect and value our top athletes. Not much, didnt cover the event and showed a clip of 8-10 seconds. Not exactly the event which the AAI described on their site. There was however coverage on the BBC,Thank god for them.
    AS far as RTE go,bull****!!

Doesnt surprise me in the slightest. If they had Christiano Ronaldo running though they would most certainly have covered it

Yes it was a disgrace by RTE once again.I think we may need to dedicate a thread to them of their own.:D Might it be shown in full this evening?

What do you expect lads? Its one of the biggest games of the year, in the most popular sport in the country, and it's home based. Ya'll find it's a lot bigger draw than what's going on in Berlin.

In saying that I think it's an awful shame they didn't send a team to report from Berlin. Its typical of the approach to sport and the financial backing given to it by our Government. That's a discussion for another day though.

I really enjoyed watching it on the Beeb over the past week, great coverage. Berlin's definitely on my marathon to do list now.

Wasn't there so didn't see it but talking to some involved afterwards, the athletes had a great time. The Road to Croker filmed it and were on the buses that took the teams from Santry to Croker and followed them behind the scenes doing the warmups etc etc. Not sure when that is normally on but should be this week. It was a great chance for some of the younger kids to run with our top stars. Lorcain O' Cathain met Hesh and Hesh was passing on training advice and they were getting on great while Gillick was giving David O' Shea a few pointers. O' Shea was pumped as he brought the Munster crew home. Although fun there was a competitive edge when it came to it and Derval gave a Paul O' Connell style speech to the Munster crew before hand by all accounts. Some of the GAA competitors on the relay were getting autographs from DOR, Gillick and Hesh.

Also, picth is supposed to be amazing and the athletes said it was almost as good as tartan.

Great day for all the athletes involved and their families and friends who were at Croker.

ok I have never checked this out but I used to train like years ago 20 of them

I was good sprinter but had great endurance, I started running long distance but after a ten mile run my shins ceased up and every time I tried to train after this I had to stop,

do any of yis know what this is can it be fixed I know its a long time ago but I still have the fire in me belly for running/training,

when I was 13 I ran 100 mtrs in 11.43 secs but unfortunately at the time there was nobody who cared enough, I won many medals county medals,

but for me my best was the long jump I beat so many guys who were at least a foot taller than me :D
