New York for Dress etc. any tips?

    Howdy, we are hoping to get married in 2011 and I'm thinking of heading to New York to get my dress and the bridesmaid dresses as I've heard they are alot cheaper out there and the trip will pay for itself in that sense. The only thing is I don't know where to start... Where and what shops are the best to go too? Do we need to have arranged appointments before we head out? If I wanted to get our wedding rings out there is that possible and are their ring sizes the same as here seeing as my hubby-to-be won't be coming with us? Is there anything else for the big day that I could get out there which would save us money on the price of things here? Also, what time of year is the best to go out there (sale times etc.) so that I can arrange our flights/hotel for then? Apologies for the amount of questions but I really don't know where to start... Thanks :)

    congrats on d wedding
    im also getting married next year had a look in new york a few months ago and didnt find any differance in prices
    cosmopoletin brides in liffey valley are doing a great deal at the moment and have some realy nice stuff
    im heading back to new york in nov and going to try find invitations and favours and cake topper while there also rings bring a ring with you that belongs to h2b
