Just a place for various observations about the preseason...

Tarvaris Jackson played out of skin for the Vikings. He also played well last year in the playoffs, and played well various other times as well. If he ends up losing the roster spot to Rosenfels and Booty, then I'd gladly take him at the Rams where we've only got two quarterbacks and a starter who hasn't shown much in a couple of seasons.

Brian Orakpo is looking like a beast for the Redskins, on last night's evidence at least. Glen Coffee looked quite good for the 9ers too.

Anyone see Brandon Jacobs knock Urlacher on his arse in the first quarter of the Giants-Bears game? It was great. Matt Forte is going to cement himself as a top 5 running back this year, too. They'll get it to him on screens and flats in lieu of having actual receivers, as well as just running.

Cutler looked great for the bears yesterday as did Forte. Lol @ Urlacher he was boshed 2 or 3 times in the highlights alone, he wasn't the only Bear in fairness Jacobs is a freak, but it was funny it was Urlacher who got the biggest one.

Only watched the Niners-Raiders game so far but Coffee looked decent. The line did a great job blocking for him, and he made the most of whatever holes he could find although having said that the red zone offense needs a lot of work.

I wouldnt get to excited about Coffee based on the Raiders game, my mom could get 100 rushing yards against the Raiders. Os far we've sucked badly at stopping the run yet again. Our passing offence is looking a lot better though.

Even if Coffee turns out to be good, solace can be taken in the fact that both Smith and Hill aren't looking like NFL starters.

Orton threw for something like 180 for the Broncos (without Marshall, who apparently doesn't know the offense enough to practice with the first team, never mind start a game), which is interesting.

In Cleveland, Anderson vs. Quinn is still open. In Tampa, even though McCown did okay, it doesn't look like it's going to be him. Leftwich, Johnson, Freeman on the depth chart by opening day, I'd say.

Just catching up with all the news in AF since the last SB, ie. I like to give it a rest in the summer and catch up with GAA !! but.........I can't believe Cutler is gone from the Broncos, coach got rid of him to strengthen up the offence, well after 2 games it isn't working !! Bring back Cutler I say!!
/...and after gettin rid of SkySports I'll have to make do with replays on NFL network, gone are the Sunday nites with the RED button, sob sob, bugger !

Anyone see any of Packers v Bills or Browns?

Know they won both, but no reviews of packers pre-season round here...

what an a**hole (Marshall I mean :D). The sooner Denver gets rid of Marshall the better, shocking behaviour for a professional athlete. Looks like he went to the Jay Cutler school of throwing your toys from the pram

Just looked this morning, turns out Marshall's been suspended for 'detrimental conduct' or something similar to that!

Rogers (Up untill yesterday) was leading the pre-season in passing TD's with 3 and Grant looks alright. Packers 3-4 switch is looking fairly dominant.

Beanie Wells looked great for the Cardinals, he had one seriously impressive run for a touchdown in his first series.

Green Bay put up 44 against the Cardinals though - looks like if the Cardinals are going to the postseason again this year, it'll be the same way as last year, scoring more than the way-too-much your defense leaked. Leinart threw for 360 yards, which is heartening for them considering the fact that every pundit's crystal ball has Warner out injured at some stage in 09.

Cadillac Williams is back for the Bucs and rumour has it he could be top of the depth chart too. Until he breaks something important Week One and has to retire.

Brady hurt his throwing shoulder, but it'd take a coma to keep him out of Week One you'd have to say.
