    From www.tg4.ie
RACING, TRACING AND LACING HEADLINE TG4'S AUTUMN SCHEDULE

A brand new drama series, award-winning documentaries, traditional music of the highest calibre, exclusive GAA coverage, news and young peoples' programmes with a difference are the key elements in the TG4's 2009 Autumn Schedule announced today. It offers a unique and distinctive viewing choice on Ireland's most innovative tv channel, with energy and panache to the fore in a combination of new programmes from emerging talent and all the favourites returning too.

Rásaí na Gaillimhe - a major new contemporary comedy drama series set against the background of one of Ireland's most famous - and notorious - sporting and social festivals - Galway Race Week. Starring Don Wycherley, Tom Ó Súilleabháin, Charlotte Bradley and Owen Roe, this 7 part drama follows the antics and frolics of an array of characters, including a dodgy Government Minister who converge on the west for the Galway Races, hoping that this famous week will make their dreams come true. The odds work against some of them and the wages of sin have to be paid.

Bóthar go dtí an White House - A brand new fast-paced documentary series that chronicles the significant and colourful Irish involvement in US politics over the past 150 years from Tammany Hall to the White House. Each programme highlights one of the major characters in this important part of Ireland's contribution to the building of the Land of the Free.

Ros na Rún - The tv drama series/soap that portrays the real Ireland returns for the 14th season. A regular eye-full of goings on in this village proves that there is more to rural Ireland than farm subsidies and eco-tourism.

Cérbh É? - A series of musical journeys in which a prominent traditional musician explores the life and heritage of a major figure from a previous generation and Ceol na nOileán, a series that brings to life the musical riches of our populated islands.

Teorainn - the story of how the Boundary Commissioners drew that fateful line on map of Ireland almost ninety years ago and its enduring impact on all aspects of life since then.

Stíl na Réalt - An entertaining fashion series that mixes makeover and celebrity biography. Contestants must try to style themselves like a well-know fashion icon - on a tiny budget.

Cogar - An eye-opening range of original Irish documentaries on aspects of Irish life, many of which have been forgotten or neglected, from the KLM plane crash of 1958 to the story of the Irish members of The Zimmers, the oldest band in the world. Other programmes in the series profile a Mayo farmer caught in a time warp, the story behind the man behind the famous John 3:7 sign at GAA matches, Ireland's forgotten tractor restorers and what life was really life in a convent school in Monaghan in the 1940s.

An Jig Gig - a brand new show searching for the best traditional Irish dancers in the country and Steip - the annual live sean-nós dancing extravaganza.

Cowboys - A new travel/documentary series that profiles seven legendary Wild West characters (most with Irish roots), explores and explodes the myths of the old West as perpetuated by Hollywood and then shows the movie as well.

Daniel O'Donnell in concert and in conversation, reflecting back on a long, eventful and rewarding life in music.

Cúla4 - A customised daily service in Irish for kids and young people with brand new Ben 10, Spongebob Squarepants, Skunk Fu and Eliot Kid.

Cúla4 na nÓg - the breakfast time segment for pre-school kids that will bring Sesame Street as Gaeilge, Dora the Explorer, Dive Ollie Dive and Mr. Men.

Ponc - TG4's daily zone for young people and teenagers featuring top drama series, reality television, extreme sports, reviews and competitions.

GAA Beo - a wide variety of exclusive live tv coverage of Gaelic games coverage every weekend - All-Ireland Finals in Under 21 hurling and in Ladies Football, County Finals and AIB Club Championship matches each Sunday.

GAA@125 - Another innovation by TG4 as the channel devotes a full day and night to Gaelic Games-themed programming on the official day of the 125th Birthday of the GAA.

Nuacht TG4 - A daily and distinctive non-metropolitan take on regional, national and international stories and 7 Lá, hard-hitting weekly analysis of the stories that matter to real people.

Comhrá - A series of gentle conversations with people, not all of them well known, whose extra-ordinary lives reveal a lot of drama away from the headlines. The last baby born on the Blasket Islands is among those featured.

Mí na Meala - A new season of the series that takes married couples of all ages back to the days when they first said "I do". How some chose Norway for their honeymoon while others went to Lourdes.

Rapairí - Profiles of six legendary Irish action men of the 18th and 19th centuries who gave a new word to the language - the famed 'raparees" of song and story - darlings who were sheltered by their own communities, they were branded as terrorists by the authorities and hunted like animals.

Amhráin is Ansa Liom - Our best traditional singers single out which songs best suit their style and illustrate their favourites by singing them.

The international documentary series Fíorscéal challenges the establishment versions of current controversies with alternative and provocative insights.
An eclectic and discerning range of films - from classics to war to Westerns to contemporary international cinema including Intermission, The Hours, the Magnificent Seven, The Alamo and The Good, Bad & Ugly.

The latest breakout US hit drama series - vampires and all - True Blood starring Oscar winning actress Anna Paquin, exclusive to TG4.

    I will ignore the pun :) graveyard.Vampire

I don't understand the Irish Channels. The buy in some quality shows and the regulate them to graveyard shifts (I suppose the thinking behind the Halloween/Samhain night is a good one, often Halloween TV is neglected).

I wouldn't mind if the repeated them later on in the week at a better time or the same goes for repeat them at the graveyard slots.

    They generally have repeat rights.

Halloween is TG4's birthday, so they tend to make a good day out of it. Most likely is after the premiere, they'll move the series to a better weektime slot. It's not like TG4 to put their imports into the death slot.

I don't like True Blood and afew of those other shows, but it looks as if TG4 remains the only half-way decent Irish station.
