Is anyone else looking forward to September as much as me? Have an awful case of buck fever since scouting some ground on friday and managed to stalk into 5 yards of this pricket.. More due to a very strong head wind than my stalking skills :D

WHen living in NZ, I did a bit of pig hunting and have a licence for .22 and shotgun here in Ireland. However I would love to get into Deer hunting at home here. Could anyone advise how I would go about getting started and what I would need apart from the obvious ?
    Open to PM if suitable,

    Thanks

    Paddy

Thankfully I have all my paperwork through.

However I only put the NPWS application through about three weeks ago and got it back within two weeks.

They assured me that they were working on applications and they would be back mid August.

I have a contact name if it helps? PM me and I will give it to you if you need it. He was very helpful.

Was told 13th myself in KK last night (for shotgun licence), application in since late june, but wasn't stamped before the 21st of July. Fingers crossed they arrive the 13th.

Will be accompanying a friend who will be stalking this year, think I need to get some experience before ventring into it next year, will stick to teh pheasant this year.

I must have just missed you at the station, I was there about 7pm.

The way it will pan out is:

The Pulse system will go live on the 13th..........hopefully.
Your gun details are entered into the new system.

You will get a letter with a payment Barcode in it. This Barcode is taken to the Post office, or can be paid online maybe, where your license fee is paid.

Your new credit card license is printed and posted out to you.

So don't expect to be getting your new license until a good few days after the new system goes live.

Also be a good time to be putting in for your Gun Euro Passports at the same time.

Got the same story as well... With data being entered into Pulse on Sept 13th, I wonder can I realistically expect to have a licence in hand for the 1st of November. Will certainly not get any early duck shooting in this year.

Anyway, apologies for going off topic.
