Stripping Sideboard

    Hiya,

I have a lovely old wooden sideboard that I want to renovate. I'm a complete novice at this and want to strip the wood right back and refinish with a gray stain ... so that the grain is still visible.

I googled it and it says that I should strip the piece first, then sand it back and apply the stain after that but what I'm wondering is if anybody can recommend a good stripping product? It looks to still have it's original stain on it, in that I won't have to remove a few layers but I just don't know where to start really.

If anyone has any suggestions it'd be great!
