Recirculating extractor fan and HRV

Hi everybody, we're discussing kitchen appliances at the moment and I was wondering whether people have experience with a recirculating extractor fan / cooker hood above a kitchen island. According to the shop, kitchen smells should be taken out by the filters.
Has anyone put in such cooker hood? Are you happy with the performance?
We plan to make the house as airtight as possible and have HRV.

    Thanks

6 years since you posted - did you go for MHRV and find a good solution for Cooker hood ?

Six year old thread and OP not active for six years, you're better off starting a new thread.
