looking through some DVDs for something to watch and saw these three interesting movies, on first look I had written off True romance as a load of **** but on inspection I found out it was written by quentin tarantino, has an absolutely stellar cast, good director and got 91 % on rotten tomatoes! After watching inglouious basterds and enjoying it thoroughly i'm kinda in a mind set to watch it.

Would it be silly to ignore goodfellas and heat? What do you recomend?

    Avoid True Romance!
Either of the other two is worth a watch.

How much time do you have? Heat is 3 hours long, and you need to pay attention to all of it, but it's well worth it IMHO. Goodfellas is shorter and less demanding.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Ya its written by quentin tarentino and if you wiki the cast, its fairly impressive.

I may watch true romance and Goodfellas, leave heat for another day

True Romance is great...has a couple of your typical tense Tarantino scenes and some nice dialogue! Watch it if you haven't seen before!

All very good films imo, whichever you choose you can't really go wrong but goodfellas would be my personal fave of the three

    Goodfellas = flawless.

True Romance = Near flawless but the truly stellar cast makes up for any shortcomings, plus it has Tricia Arquette at her uber cutest.

Heat = Meh.Long, drawn out with a couple of memorable scenes.

Heat is sofaking over rated its beyond ridiculous.

Goodfellas, it's still quite gritty. Heat is too long and boring. True Romance has aged badly I find, quite twee.

I've seen all three many times. Heat would be my pick, but Goodfellas would be really close.

Why don't you watch all three of them?

    I've seen Goodfellas and Heat.

Goodfellas was alright, fairly entertaining but nothing worth running back to watch it.

I loved Heat on the other hand. It's long yes but it's great if you concentrate on it. Great performances, soundtrack is excellent and the sound and camera do well too. Scenes in the coffee shop, the shootout and the intro are some of my favourites. Must watch it again soon.

True Romance is the most accessible I'd say. Heat is quite long but it's a fantastic film slightly marred by a weak ending. Goodfellas is a very slick film

Having watched all 3 numerous times i find True Romance to my favourite and most quotable of the 3. It's easiest one to watch as well. Very close behind it is Goodfellas which is also very quotable and one of the best gangster flicks around with an amazing cast. Heat is a good one as well but I'd prefer to watch the best scenes in it now rather than sit through the whole thing again.

Either way you look at it you've picked out 3 epic titles that all deserve a viewing

true romance: gangster rom-com brilliant cast & dialogue, not demanding but great movie.

Goodfellas: Awsome Mafia movie entertaining & requires at least 2 viewings

Heat: heavy detailed and long in the middle still in my top movies of all time though, ALso pretty much the last great movie by de niro or Pacino so obviously a must see!!

All 3 are up there with my Favorites, heat being last only because You can't just take it out and watch anytime

Heat first then Goodfellas since it's better but then again I've never seen True Romance.

I'd definitely recommend watching all 3 as their all absolutely brilliant!

Heat is easily the best of the three though, superb performances from the whole cast and the best good guy v bad guy relationship ever!

Goodfellas! The best by far and I've watched it a million times and was my fav childhood film

Goodfellas tops it for me as well, followed by True Romance then Heat... Sure you could almost watch the first two in the time it would take you to watch heat!

thats three great movies right there.

Gandolfini in great in true romance, as well as pitt.

but goodfellas and heat put it to shame, both are brilliant in their owm right. My personal fav would propably be heat, everyone is on fire in that movies, especially Mann.
