Updating software on an old SKY box

    I'm using an old Pace SKY box in one room to get the free to air channels. However, the software in this box is about 3 years out of date now. I borrowed my parent's SKY card to update the software but got a message that "this card is not paired with this box".

    Is there any way that I can update the software on this box?

    Unplug the box (for 5 mins. or so), press and hold the 'Back Up' button (on the box not the remote), plug in the box, wait for the update message then release the 'Back Up' Button.

    just plug it out and in again with back up held, no need to wait.

    Update is nothing to do with card.
