Slipping back into depression

I suffered from depression for about a year and a half when i was younger.

One day recently, out of nowhere, i suddenly felt this wave of sadness come over me. I was ok by the next day but for the last week I have been close to tears nearly all the time. At one point this morning I saw an advert for a kids film, and within seconds I was holding back the tears, its all random things like this that have been doing it to me. And normally I always let things my partner does or say slide but this week they've been geting to me and I've been getting angry in my head over it.

I'm scared that this is the beginning of me slipping back into depression.

I just wanted to know if it sounds to other people like I am or if this kind of sadness happens to other people for no reason at all.

Hi OP If you know it's on the way back you can nip it in the bud before

    it wrecks your head.

Try a visit to a G.P. I did and it worked out nicely.

    Good luck!

    it happens to everybody.
    picture yourself at a crossroad.
to the left is the sad road, easy go down it because you dont care anymore.
to the right is the good road, not so easy go down because effort is required.
    effort is everything ,
its how you go thru life.
    choose life!

Just as a matter of interest, what was the movie? Does it bring you back to a part of your life when you were seriously unhappy, or remind you of something bad that you did?

Hi op here. Thanks for all your replies. It was called aliens in the attic, some kids movie. But the thing is its all random things. Even a toothpaste add or the andex pupy add can do it to me!Also I can be sitting on the bus and out of nowhere my eyes start to water.

I'm feeling grand right now but i know that it will probably start again tomorrow out of no where. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it over the next week or so, and if it continues i probably should go to the docters. Thanks again

    Do you do exercise?

I'd recommend lifting weights in a gym about 3 days a week. If you're in dublin Ben Dunne's gyms are very affordable. If you're utterly broke do some high intensity running.

Apart from physiological benefits improving your mood a better body will improve your confidence and add to general happiness.

    Hi OP,

I agree with Bottle_of _Smoke here; excerise is the best 'blues buster' on the planet! If you are female though, could it be a matter of coming up to 'that time of the month?'
