    hi all

my friend has a photo from her wedding that she wants to be added to the "thank you" cards.

the printers have asked her to send it in as "a DPI of 300 and must be a jpeg". How do you convert it to a DPI of 300? Am slightly confused!!

I do have Photoshop CS3, but haven't used it very much. Any advise wud be great.

    Thanks :)

when you do image resize, uncheck the "resample" checkbox and it keeps the image resolution and changes it to 300dpi.

the printer is giving you the wrong figures

its actually PPI for a digital file

DPI is the number of dots per inch the printer puts on the paper

    but to answer the question

it kind of depends on the size you need etc

basically you need to chage the ppi (pixels per inch) size in the image size settings in photoshop

most printers could adjust this for you though

I think you can just send them your largest/highes resolution jpeg and they will downsize it.

If its for a 'thank you card' perhaps it will be 5by7inches, that would be 1500 by 2100 pixels for 300PPI
so anything over that should be fine. I think thats around 3mp
