i set up an edimax 6200n and a vodafone 3g modem in the attic of a womans house yesterday. she has poor 3g reception and no DSL option

she has a pc and laptop with wifi, in the house and all works brilliantly now, downloading at about 200kbps at 4pm, so youtube was flawless, whole family are over the moon

anyway she is paying 20 a month and told that she can use it non stop...

but is their any hidden charges, now her 3g will be connceted 24x7

    It's not 24x7. It's dailup on demand.

If it's configured properly it should be OK. But they can't watch much video without using up the Cap which is a 1/4 of typical entry level broadband.

    200kbps non stop would be over 50Gbyte a month ? :)

Being connected 24x7 & downloading are two different things. Being connected 24x7 would not incur any additional charges. One potential issue with being connected 24x7 is if the PC had some virus that caused it to download crap continuously, you could hit the cap jut by being connected.
