Registration Packs?

Has anyone got their registration packs out on the post from NUIG yet? It has like loads of information on the college etc. Am I the only one who hasnt got it yet? Please tell me that some other people havent got theirs yet??

I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

You still have plenty of time to register and there's a while before you start yet.

But they'll probably be out next week.


I actually never got one (I was a round three offer) and I got on fine.

Still ain't got mine! All I got was a letter the other day about info evenings!!

I only got my letter about the information evening today....and it's on tonight in Dublin!!! I won't be able to go though because I'm just after getting my tan done for my debs tomorrow so I currently resemble an "oompa loompa"!!

Mine came today registered online with no problems, just adding contacts to my new nuig email account!

still havent recieved mine, says 2-3 days after acceptance of course on nuig website, its been 10 days now!

chill out, NUIG is probably the most relaxed third level institution in the world, university of Kingston excepted possibly.:D

dont worry about it, get your acc sorted, turn up and enjoy the party, these things generally resolve themselves in time....

spoken as a 3rd year that hasn't registered on time for anything in NUIG. ever.

ya my email account works fine, but i got onto the CASS thing to change my passwords! but i cant log into Blackboard or the library and those things! my email account seems to be the only service i can log into!

For most colleges, you won't be able to access Blackboard or the library until you are at least registered, and very often until the reg. has been downloaded into the system ... which in some cases may mean until the server uploads overnight, in others may mean until the records office activates (for want of a better word) a particular course group or indeed the whole intake. In a few cases this might not happen until you're actually physically in the college, and get your student card.

You don't NEED these things for the moment, no need to worry ...

Do you have to email them a photo for your student card now, or will you have to go in to get your photo taken when you get there?

oh i know i am just really curious and want to start playing with all these new things!! i uploaded my photo during online registration!

Oh, I understand that perfectly!! ... but just in case anyone would be worried by the fact that they couldn't access them.


You will be amazed how fast the novelty will wear off, and lecturers will be wondering why they bother uploading stuff on Blackboard when only 20% of their class are even logging in!! :rolleyes:

That's always handy all right; that bit genuinely does reduce staff workload at the other end, and it should speed up the issuing of student cards, for instance.

ya i rang the fees office today about that. they said it was fine and if you received a grant then its all good but if you didn't get it then you would just have to call into the fees office and pay the registration fee!
but then i found out that i cant apply for a grant.. oh well! ill just be a poor student!:rolleyes:

haha i can imagine that! i'm sure ill be sick of it fairly soon! but still!! ya it should be handy not having to get the photos done there, just call in and get my student card!

You have to register at some stage! If you didn't get proof that you'll be receiving the grant, pay the €1,724 (non-tuition charge and student levy) and you'll be refunded the non-tuition charge later on in the year if your application was successful.

The registration fee itself is €1500 and then there is a student levy of €274 which i believe all students have to pay regardless of whether you have a grant or not.

Hey does anyone know whne the law timetables will be updated?! i see the commerce ones and some of the arts ones have been updated for the following year. but the law ones have not been updated and i want to know my timetable now!! hopefully finished early on a friday evening!!

It'll be grand Had to ring the registration help-line today and it said that registration packs are to be delivered to incoming first years from 15-31 August. So should be Monday. If nothing comes by then, then it's no harm to give them a buzz.

Go onto the nuig website, go into collages and schools and then click on which ever department your subject is in, and click current students and there should be a link for the timetables!
