Changing dole cheque

    Hi

I just got my first dole for the first time after waiting for two months. Anyway, even though I put on my application for the money to be paid by bank transfer they sent me a cheque. Was wondering can this cheque be lodged into my bank account just as a normal cheque with my signature on the back, or do I have to go to my local post office with my social welfare card and cash it there? I'd rather lodge in my account if possible as its backdated dole money and I would prob spend it quicker if I cashed it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
