Hi , How that its a sure thing that Bryne and his merry men are going to introduce a water charge TAX to domestic houses ect . As it would be excepted that the council would fit these meters outside each dewelling .
Because of the qty and time scale involved it will more than likely go to tender . The question is two fold .
Can you image them fitting the meter at your house , cant see people been to happy about it . How will it be taken ?
Is it a good idea to install a harvisting system to the house to save on water charge .

I am involved in a group water scheme where meters have been installed to much opposition as you sugest teepee, however they have proven useful for detecting leaks on the consumer side which can then be fixed therefore saving treated water, consumers will get a volume of water per year free and will only be charged where they are wasting it throught leaks, all in all our consumers should save money. If the local authority system opperates on a similar basis then you will be a very long time before rainwater harvesting saves you enough to recoup your costs. Very different for comercial concerns however who are charged on metered usage!!!
