What should I expect from it? Just a bunch of boring speeches and finger food afterwards or is there more to it?

    Pretty much.

    Lots of polite golf clapping.

    Don't trip on your gown.

About 1.5 hours or thereabouts. It's not too bad; you have the graduation booklet with all the names listed in it to entertain yourself with ("Ooh, he got that, fair play!" and "What the hell is that about?!" referring to the incredibly obscure PhDs).
