UK Summons for Running Red Light ROI Licence

I just got a nice summons from the UK from a hire car I was driving.

"1.85 seconds" running a red light from a fixed camera!

I done some research and its 3pts on DVLA (UK Licences) and £60 fine - question is how will it work for an Irish resident with ROI licence?

Will it be just £60 over the phone by cc?

Fine, no points. There is (currently) no way for the DVLA / DVA in the North to put points on an Irish licence or vice versa.

The OP did not get a Summons. He has received a notice of intended prosecution, most likely forwarded on by a car hire company. Nothing will ever become of it.

If they(hire company) have your credit card then odds are they already have the money. No points.

Don't work that way in the UK. The hire company simply sends the police your details. Usually once plod sees you are in Ireland it is quietly binned.
The hire company may charge an admin charge to send on your details to the police. Usually around £25 to £30.

I would be careful with that one. Think I seen this on "The Real Hustle" on the BBC. Be wary if a collection agent shows up at your door.....and asks for the money.
