My ExpressCard slot....what can I use it for?

This is one part of my laptop that never gets used. I know it can be used for mobile broadband, but thats not something that i need. I read that you can somehow get digital tv by buying a specific ExpressCard. Does anyone have any information on this?

I'd also appreciate any other info that people can give me on the uses of this slot; i'd quite like to make the most out of my laptop!

I looked into this myself a while ago, didn't find anything too exciting. If your laptop is short on card readers you could get a multi-card reader.

You could use it to store those little yellow stick-it pads so you'll always have them handy.

This is really what i'm interested in. Can you tell me how it works? Is it simply a matter of plugging in to the slot and getting analogue and digital tv through the laptop, without any tv, set-top box, or aerial?

I don't understand how one could expect to get any analogue or digital signal from the (i'm assuming) tiny antenna that is supplied.

the aerial is probably what will cause most headaches you will probably have to have a aerial on the roof to get a good enough signal (sk* multi-room keeps me away from the soaps)
