Cutting an aluminium door

    Hi folks

I can get an Aluminium / PVC door & frame that's a bit too tall (by a few inches) to fit into the doorway, is there any good way of cutting it down to size? It's for a back door... Should I just get out the hack-saw or is there a better way of doing it? Or should I just forget it and pay full price for one that's the right size?

Are there a set of standard sizes? (I found it a bit unusual that a door could be the wrong size I'd have thought they are all the same)

    Thanks for any help...

Cutting the frame is easy enough but modifying the actual door (including the glass/ solid panel etc) is not easy, you could end up with a pile of (near) worthless scrap if it doesn't work out for you.
