Escape From Spike Island Swim

    Hi everybody,

    Is anybody else doing this swim tomorrow? Or has anyone else done it in the past? Just wondering what to expect, I have covered the distance before a few times but i wonder what the sea conditions are usually like.

    It's well inside the harbour. It should be fine.

    Zuppylurk who posts here is the event Director. I'm the dogs-body for the event. It's a nice enough swim. We're hoping to get everyone over to the island at slack water so there should be no issue's from currents. As bagus said, inside the harbour the conditions should be good. Water temperatures are also pretty good this year. The one piece of advice I would say, is have a look back to the great Island when you're on your way out to Spike on the boats to get a handle on the route back. There will be plenty of time to ask any questions you might have at the safety briefing.

    Glad you signed up for the premier :-) event of the year. Look back and pick your landmarks. All you need to know will be in the briefing. Like where the afters are on, how I can fix times for a little brown envelope (joke).
