    Hey guys,
I'm a fairly big Tipp supporter for the last 3 years but have no connection to any local clubs. So this is the first time I will be trying to get final tickets.
Had no problem getting semi final tickets on ticket master the past few years.
But will any tickets be available on ticketmaster for the final?
And if not what the best way to go about getting some?

Won't be on ticketmaster. You better start licking up to your friends in high positions, apart from corporate, tickets are distributed amongst the clubs.

Tickets will be available outside Croke Park on the day. Almost guaranteed.

you could have a look on www.toutless.com

I sold some U2 tickets there but they have a sports ticket section.

    From touts or official?

So no tickets for anyone who does not have the right connections? :(

You will get honest people selling tickets because their friend rings up at the last minute to say he can't make it.

Takes a bit effort also. Nobody is going to walk up to you and sell you a ticket unless they are a tout

There is a group of us that want to go.
So we would need four tickets so that approach probably would not work.

Annoying, I have missed very few Tipp game over the last few years.

duh .... maybe try a site which is designed for tickets to be sold at face value (ie. NO TOUTS)

    www.toutless.com

Sorry if this seems like I'm advertising but I posted my advice earlier and for some reason it was posted several posts afterwards ...... no offence meant but maybe you should read before posting.

Personally I dont have any connections to any GAA clubs or to the website mentioned above - if I did I would help.

yeah toutless would be a good spot to try,but for future reference would you not join your local club, its normally around 30-40e a year if your not playing and after all if the clubs werent there there would be no county scene

You'll be very very lucky to get 4 tickets together. Take what you get. You'll more than likely be very spread out on the day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 683 ✭✭✭Gingy

You don't have a hope of getting 4 together. And the ratio of honest ticket sellers to people looking for a ticket would be about 10:1. I presume toutless would be similar enough. Ask everyone you know and hope someone gets you one. Otherwise, you could always paint your cat blue and gold or walk to Croke Park and try to get tickets on the 'Last Word' radio show. http://www.hoganstand.com/ArticleForm.aspx?ID=116301

The Tipp Supporters Club are having members draw for 12 stand tickets (6 pairs). If you're lucky (and a member) you might be drawn out in that!

First thing after the final is to join a club or supporters club.

I reckon there will be plenty of tickets floating around for this final.

See do you or any of your family/friends have a contact with any of the sponors.
I will get tickets from Vodafone because I manage my companies phones with them.
I will not get a ticket from Bank of Ireland because I am not a big customer - Are You.
If your really desperate go down to your local Toyota Dealer and buy a new car if he throws in a few tickets.

Seriously though; listen out to the local radio station for any competitions and enter them all.

If you don't get a ticket; travel and you will get one on the morning of the competition.

You will be very very very lucky to get 2 together; nevermind 4.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

Will they definitely not be on ticketmaster?

There is a different distribution system for finals than for any other match of the year and part of that is that there are never tickets sold for the All-Ireland finals on ticketmaster.

Only if your county gets there. There are a lot of neutrals who would have gone to matches throughout the year, a lot more than people whose county are in the final, that can't get them through the season ticket system.

Membership for many clubs cost a lot more that €40 year, multiples of it. Even if you are a member, I think you'll find that there are more than 2 members in each club, and that's about all each club actually gets. As you'll have seen the Tipperary Supporters club only has 6 to raffle. So club membership is far from a guarantee of a ticket. There are about 2500 clubs in Ireland. If all tickets were completely and exclusively given to them alone, each club would only get about 33 tickets, which wouldn't be good enough for even the smallest club to satisfy its members.

The clubs can't get 33 tickets each, because along with the 2500 clubs here the GAA has to give out tickets to a wide range of other groups, like the clubs in other countries, officials, sponsors, premium ticket holders, past presidents and team members, and many, many other groups. The corporate and sponsors always get given out to when it comes to this debate, but many of those who do get those tickets are genuine supporters. They are not all people up having a nice meal and then by chance looking out the window and turning to someone else and saying "Hey, look, there are a load of guys out there running around after a ball. Do you know what that is all about? Well, it probably isn't that important. The caviar is nice, isn't it?"

So to get a ticket for the final it comes down to a lot of luck and maybe knowing the right people. Even if you do know someone who can get tickets, that person has a lot of other friends asking too, so that's not even a guarantee, so that just leaves luck. This discussion comes up every year and we have people proposing all sorts of systems. This year we got the often asked for season ticket system, but even that won't satisfy everyone. Whatever system you come up with, the number of people in it that would qualify for a ticket far exceeds the capacity of Croke Park. So unless Croke Park miraculously expands its capacity in the next few weeks by a very significant amount, there will be many genuine supporters who fully deserve a ticket that will be left without one. That's the fact of the matter, and no amount of debate and saying how unfair it is will ever change it. There isn't and never can be a perfect system. Anyway, even if Croke Park did expand to fit the crowd that would like to be there, I don't think you'd see the pitch very well from the back row of the 19th tier of a 2 million all-seater stadium, do you?

flukey the reason i said 40e is because thats what i paid for my membership this year and thats up 10e on the last few years.ive also mentioned its more for playing members but i assume the OP doesnt play as he isnt a member of a club, which you have to be for insurance.as for clubs getting only a couple of tickets, the clubs in participating counties get a fair bit more than that, granted not enough, but a lot more than 2.im taking the assumption the OP is in tipp as his location isnt up on his avatar.

He is a tipp fan and tipp are in the final and hence I suggested the season pass which was only sold out to a couple of counties if i remember correctly. Also through the season ticket scheme a neutral can get a ticket for the final if they have attempted all league and championships games.

    From the gaa website:
Can I still get an All-Ireland Final Tickets if my County does not reach the final? If you have attended 100% of all your county's games you will be put into a draw for an All Ireland ticket.

I don't think it's due for release until next month. It's not in Easons and Amazon don't have it either. You can pre-order it online here but I couldn't tell you how genuine that site is.

Right connections = A member of the Organisation who actually puts something in.

All ireland final day isnt about the supporters, its about the guy who washes the jerseys and fills waterbottles for the under 13s etc etc.

'Giving up' four sunday afternoons of your year to spend a nice day in the sun having a few pints with your mates and watching a match isnt what entitles you to a ticket.

Anyways rant over. Hang around quinns or the hill 16 or barrys on sunday afternoon and there will be tickets. everyone asks everyone they know for a ticket and sometimes you get more than you need. twice in the last 5 years ive had a spare ticket for an ai final with all my friends sorted and sold em face value to honest looking punters (from my own county obviously) an hour or so before through in. stay off the sauce, ask everyone and you shoudl get sorted

Meaghers in Fairview was a good spot for Cork people. Often got tickets there, both big and small ball.

Don't know if Tipp or cats go there.

Last time I was there, got two tickets of boys from belfast, their buddy's didn't turn up, so sold them to us.

Just to show how hard it is to get tickets, in Cork, clubs got 40 or so tickets, have several hundred members. I know the Bars had a rafffle for the trainers and mentors of all teams, and another one for the general membership. Most mentors didn't get tickets.

But it's great to hear the best tickets are going to jersey washers rather than corporations!!
