Will I need an extraction??

OK, quick background. Got a filling in a molar about 3 months ago. About 4 weeks ago I noticed a part of my tooth was loose at the side and coming off the filling. I foolishly didn't get to the dentist ASAP and 3 days ago, half of the tooth on one side came out. Now I have a full filling with a full tooth coat on one side and a partial tooth coat on one side (if you know what I mean). My gum is very exposed now that that part of the tooth is gone, and has started swelling. I'm very worried now and I'm going to starting ringing up dentists at 9am and hoping to find an emergency dentist. I'm expecting to need an extraction here... it's the most likely outcome right? I'm not interested in a root canal or anything like that, I just want the cheapest option to be honest.

One big lesson learned, you DON'T mess around with teeth.

Nearly every tooth can be saved with enough effort. If you want to keep it you can but a lot of treatment may be required, root canals, cores, crowns etc. If at all possible keep your teeth, although cheap an extraction will have repercussions down the line. Either way I hope you get out of trouble soon,
