Clutch Problems...

I'm learning to drive at the moment and like a lot of learners I have problems with the clutch. For some reason when I'm moving off the car seems to jump a bit, a reasonable amount to be honest. It doesn't cut out or anything but you can really feel it. I think it's because I can't get the balance between the accelerator and the clutch right because my leg seems to shake a bit no matter how slow and steady I take it off the clutch...

Just wondering does anyone have any tips for clutch use or to alleviate my shaking leg!! :o

That's perfectly normal when learning to drive. A bit of practise should alleviate it. :)

Learning to balance the clutch and the accelerator is hard for everyone at the start. So you're not alone there. It can be painful to watch a learner driver jerk off at take off but it's something we all suffered through.

The only solution is practice. On a quiet road, or a private lane, practice taking it really slowly and easy. Keep at it, and your ability will grow.

Later in life, every time you sit into a new car, you'll have to adjust to a new clutch/accelator combo. They're all different. But it will never take as long to adjust as it did when you were a learner.

Good luck - you'll get there.
