Query regarding maintenance grant

I've left filling it in somewhat late and now I've encountered a potential problem.

Basically, two years ago during the summer of 2007 I worked in a shop and come September I stopped working. I didn't receive a P60 or P45 (I think my employers lost my details, while I - not wanting to see their faces again - didn't bother going back to ask for them). As I haven't actually been working these last two years I haven't received any income* but after logging onto revenue.ie I notice that technically I'm still an employee of theirs.

So, my question is, despite my inactivity, in relation to the 'Income From Employment' section, do I need to submit my P60, P21 for the end of 2008 and P45 along with the form? And if so, would it take long for my 'employer' to get those forms ready (i.e. before the 31st of August)? Or can I just put in N/A in the designated areas?

*Although, looking at my tax credits (PAYE & Personal Tax Credit), there is an increase in the year 2008 so however that happened or whatever it insinuates is beyond my comprehension...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They should have given you your P45. Anyways, you can ask your old employer for a Statement of Earnings document for 2008, it will have all the necessary information that you would have on a P45.

I'm not sure how long it will take to get it, it depends on the employer. For example: I used to work in Dunnes but needed what you require so I asked for a Statement of Earnings, they had to send a request to Head Office and it took about 2-3 weeks.

Hopefully you can get it quicker.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the reply truecrippler,, but do you think it's absolutely necessary to include that information on the grant form considering I wasn't receiving an income during 2008?
