Ive been reading about training periodization and I wonder :
After peak , say April , I do my race , but if i want to do a few more races over the next few months , maybe 1 a month - where do I start again?
I would not have time to start at build again!

The point if base is that you don't have to build again, depending on the race you are planning on doing, lets say your doing 5-10k you have your base miles done then run your key race, after that your base is still there so you just keep ticking over with some session.
I'm doing that at the moment hoping to get some form together for a 4 week period and do some races then.

Well my understanding is you go through a peak phase where you do your best performances over say 4-6 weeks and aim to be at your best for your target race.

Also the peak doesnt come at the end of the base phase.

Usually you will have your base phase, then a phase were you gradually introduce faster running, then a sharpening phase where your doing your most important quality work and then finally a peaking phase where you maybe taper back mileage and/or quality work and focus on racing.

It is very difficult to peak for a specific race though, even elite athletes can get it wrong.

base build peak/race, then recovery and repeat. In a proper periodisation plan you'll get only two peaks a season. A peak can last 3 weeks tops.

If your plan is to do a race a month then you cannot peak for them all. You can have average performances which detioriate over the course of a few months or one or two stellar performances with everything else just being a training race.

I think you need to read alittle more about periodisation.
