Any Kilcock GC members up for a game?

    Hi there,

I'm a fairly new Kilcock member (and fairly new to golf) and therefore don't really know anyone in the club.

I need to play three rounds with a member in order to get my handicap so if there is anybody who would fancy a game let me know.

    Cheers

    Paul.

btw, I posted in the "Arrange a game" sticky but I guess a lot of people don't look at that.

Just stick your name down on the timesheet beside someone at the weekend (ring the office or do it on the net). You can play for your handicap in a singles competition and meet people at the same time. Most of the guys are sound...

I'd offer but I'm not in Ireland...

    Thanks,

I'll give them a shout so. Hopefully they can pair me with a few high handicappers so I don't slow proceedings down too much!

If theres 2 names down for 3 slots or 3 for 4 etc is it ok to just put your name down?

Also can it be any singles comp or only stroke comps as I wouldn't be able to scratch a hole even if I was on 9 strokes for the hole?

    Cheers

Yeah, there's no problem putting your name down beside 2 or 3 other players. You can do it in any singles competition. Don't pay your entry fee and don't play the format of the day. You'll just play your own strokes game. You'd be better off playing with some lower handicap golfers. You'll learn more and get better advice not just on playing but on the rules and other stuff...

I played Kilcock yesterday in an Open Singles - they have done a great job at developing the place.

    Really enjoyed it.

They still have one or two boring holes, and shared tee boxes (HATE THAT), but all in all a wonderful little course.
