You can repeat the year doing a different subject do you know? Just in case you don't want to do Maths. This subject can make up the 15 credits that you failed with.

Maths is one subject which is a quarter of the four Arts subjects so around 900 or so. Depends on if they're gone up or down this year in money terms.

I can't remember the registration aspect of it though, I think it's included.

I think i found it on the ucc website.
    http://www.ucc.ie/en/financeoffice/fees/RepeatFees/

Assuming its up to date. It'll be about 500. Which isnt the end of the world i guess.

Oh right, when I saw Maths I thought of an Arts degree, my bad.

    500 sounds reasonable.

I'm almost certain i've failed my Pscyhology repeats too, i'm doing a BA.

So if i've been reading correctly, i don't have to do Psychology in the coming year, i could do English or something else instead?? And use this towards my 15 credits.

    Yes.

I failed French and didn't bother with the repeats (Hopeless cause really) so I repeated the year doing Politics instead.

It was literally a subject changing arrangement, I had to sign over what I was doing and what I had already done. I passed my three other subjects and needed 15 credits to pass - Politics provided that, to pass 1st year. This week the college confirmed that I'll be going into 2nd year this term so it's all good for me.

The only thing is, you're losing a year and will have to pay fees for that one subject, although next year you'll be eligible for a grant.

Do any of ye know if you repeat a subject for the year to get the 15 credits to move on to 2nd year and then IF you fail that AND fail the repeat of that subject - what then? Can you repeat again for another year or what does it cost?

Yes, the fees will be similar to what you paid before if you failed and paid to do one, two whatever amount of modules.
