Depends on your financial situation I guess!

If you can pay it back, and there's very little risk to the bank, then you'll get money. But ya will jump through hoops for it

They've tightened up a lot in the last couple of months, if you haven't a lot borrowed and you have decent assets you should be grand. If, however, you have 3 or 4 expensive machines still with finance outstanding you could be in bother.

tsb seems to be the only crowd lending for agri machinery only and you have to be in the trade and prove it to them for atleats a decade, and at that a 30%deposit also

the rest of them are only interested in sending hardened criminals out to beat people up and grab what they can get out of your yard, several men can back this up, including one lad who got serious head injuries from criminals from the meath area from a beating they gave him for falling behind by 6k on a finance

LL, you are surely not saying that the main high street banks, are sending heavy gangs out to beat peole up who are behind on repaymants. I know these guys have messed up, but cannot imagine this sort of stuff coming from them!

If you're really looking to buy a new tractor, try the dealer's own finance company. When I bought the New Holland in February, NH's own finance saved me €4400 over 5 years in comparison to Bank of Ireland, €5000 over AIB and €5500 on TSB.

any harm to ask what rate you got, I think you said you paid €41K or there abouts for the NH so I reckon you must be on about 4%. either that or the other 3 quoted you telephone figures.?

when i bought my massey new back in 06 I could get a 0% finance deal from the dealer or massey or whatever, I took it anyway, (they go away and do a credit check on you before confirming) and found it great, not sure if its still available

I can't remember the exact rate, but it was 3.5 or 4%. I took €20k over 5 years for it and the repayments are €4400 per year (maybe you can work those % out from that). All of the above mentioned banks were over €5000. I bank with both BOI (Farm) and AIB (Mortgage and wages) and contacted them both for quotes. When I told them what NH finance offered, none could match it. The TSB rep came to my house and was cock sure of himself that he had the best rate - but he was the worst.

Quick answer is no. I think I read somewhere that your 18/19. So the chances of you having assets and a history that shows you'd be capable of paying it back are slim. the bank would most likely ask for a business plan and all that stuff too. Be prepared to jump through hoops to get your hands on money
