Lads first time posting, long time reader.

myself any my hunting partner have placed a few feeders in our shooting area but the pheasants dont seem to be comming in to them, we have filled them with barley and placed them in a few areas where we know there are birds, is there any tricks we can use to entice the pheasants or is there still alot of natural feed about, they have been out for about 5 weeks now. any ideas

    Welcome.
How do you know they're not feeding? How often are you watching them??
They often just drop in, fill their craw & move on again. The place is alive with flies & butterflies & all that good stuff at present so barley may not interest them at this time of year. Try a few layers pellets. Mine go mad for em but so does every other bird in the countryside so it may not last long. I always put my hoppers under big oaks & away long grass around it as it's too easy for cats foxes etc

Have been checking them once a week but no sign of the level going down in the hoppers or of any lying on the ground, foothprints etc. Going to put out a few more so might try some layers pellets in them. generally try to put the hoppers away from heavey cover if possible.

pointer is right they mightened have much interest at the moment. Also what does a pheasant know of a feeder.? Big blue barrell, Those birds a thisk as Pig Shtie

Make sure you give the spring a good shake an scater the feed for them.

I also leave out sand traps to see if there about but pheasant droppings are quite distinctive if you know what your lokking at. Dont give up.

My hoppers wont go out till mid september BTW and a bit of spice will be added:D
