    Hi all

I'd be very grateful if you could tell me what rates you are paying on your credit cards and also laser cards.

I'm currently on 1.25% CC's and 15c per Laser Transaction, its recently been pointed out to me that rates are available from a UK bank operating over here of .67% CC and 8c laser (however there are several sneaky conditions added into this deal).

I am loath for various reasons to move away from my current supplier BOI and am hammering the sh!t out of them for a best rate.

I've pretty much beaten them down to offering .85% CC and 9c Laser which is a saving of close to 1500 a month for me across my retail business.

Has anyone here got a better rate out of BOI ? (or even AIB who I would consider moving too if it made financial sense)

Thanks very much for any help, much appreciated.

    HT

Just to point out HT, Elavon is your supplier and as such you've beaten the margin reduction out of them. BOI have no equity involvement in Elavon (however I'm sure they recieve a fee for introducing customers).

Hammertime do you take American Express?

    the rates are horrendous.

The fact that you were able to barter the rates is very interesting though

You say that the UK company hav pretty much halved the rates but does the extra clauses make it not worth it for you?

We get 1.1 % CC but laser is a lot higher ill have to check.

Do you think because your business(low margins on petrol) that you will get a better rate than someone in retail?

Fecks sakes. I have a payzone solution with AIB.

I am charged laser 20c and credit cards 2%

Interestingly, there is now a column on the statement for cashback fees.....

So previously there was no charge for cash back?
If there is a fee then retailers will surely just refuse cashback to customers.

A little while ago they announced they were bringing in a fee for cashback but after an outcry, they didnt.

The column for the fee has appeared on the AIB merchant statement though.

It will be here sooner or later....

I was with Ulster Bank Merchant Services who have had a charge for cashback for years at the same rate as a transaction. So the cost per transaction with cashback was doubled. Needless to say I used a workaround.

What credit card and laser card rates would a brand new online business have to pay for online transactions.
There are so many diferent figures being mentioned and the various banks websites are so vague.
    Thanks.

Hi, what were the sneaky conditions. I am currently with Ulster, but want to change to a cheaper option.
