Airport to Croke Park

    Lads and Lassies,

    Just looking for advice, flying in to Dublin at 2pm the day of Kerry V Meath All Ireland semi... What are the chances of getting to Croke Park for the throw in (presume it is 3.30) and also getting a ticket (as I don't want to buy one in advance encase the fligh gets delayed etc)...

    My questions are;
    1. Will I get from the airport to Croke Park for the match if my flight arrives on time at 2pm????
    2. Where would be the best place to buy a ticket other than from a scalper, presuming it won't be a sell out???

    Constructive advice and comments welcomed.

    1. Should be no problem either by taxi or bus (the bus might cut it a bit fine).

    2. There MAY be a Ticketmaster booth outside the entrance to Clonliffe College on the Drumcondra Road assuming (more than likely) that it won't be a sell out.

    Agree with dcr on the taxi thing wouldnt chance the bus to add to the ticketmaster thing there may be another booth/caravan/whatever you wanna call them up at on the north circular road across from gills

    I doubt it will be a sell out the kerry ones only travel for the finals imo and not many meath ones will be paying to see an execution :p

    Assuming you can be on a bus by about 2.20pm at the airport, then you should make it comfortably to Croke Pk by 3ish.

    Will be no problem picking up a ticket (35,000 at most at this game i.m.o.). Given you won't be going in until fairly late, you might even find someone trying to get rid of one for below face value.

    You should have no problem picking up a ticket. Just ask the first garda you see where the nearest ticket booth is. They generally have a few caravans about the place, and then there is office on Nort Circular road.

    But, hey if you see someone selling a ticket, but it from them. I always try to do that. Hate to see people out of pocket because someone couldn't make it.

    Right outside arrivals hop on the 16a bus and get off it outside the gaa ticket office in doreset street right beside the red parrot. All you have then is a 10 minute stroll to croker. Bus fare no more then €2.

    Get on a 41, 41C or 746 if any of those come along first. They're all a bit quicker than the 16A.
