    Hello Ladies (and gents!!)

As said in my other post I'm new to the site and still getting used to the posting etiquette. I didn't get any response in the Gift, Party Forum so would be most obliged if anybody here had any ideas. Mods feel free to make any adjustments as required.

    Many thanks

One of my friends is going on a "Murder Mystery" hen weekend in Mayo...it's fairly cheap as far as I can remem from what she said, like €150 per person but that includes transport to the place in Mayo (the party's leaving from Galway), food, drink and accommodation, as well as the "Mystery". Definitely a different idea!

I think this is a great idea too. Another option is to do this at home, you can pick up murder mystery games in bookstores in Easons or Reads for €20. I've played one before and it's great fun.

I saw a Thriller themed hen night featured in a mag recently, the bride dressed up as mj and all the girls were dressed as zombies, looked like they had a laugh! Wouldn't be my cup of tea but some people would love it. Did a school girl theme before, the painted freckles and hair in bunches was great fun and nearly everyone had a skirt/pinafore type dress and shirt combo that they could use and we just borrowed or bought cheap mens ties.

when i have been out and about recently ive seen a lot of sailor themed hen parties.since the shops are full of sailor stuff it wud be easy for the hens to put an outfit together...and the ones i seen were classy looking rather than the tarty/trashy look.since some clubs in certain parts of the country are not keen on hen parties ive known some themes to be dresses and heels!hope this helps

My OH took a barge on the Grand Canal with food:

They had great craic and the prices seem reasonable - €600 for the boat for 3 hours. That doesn't include dinner, but if you've 20 people then €30 each for the boat rental seems decent enough, especially if you're not making a weekend of it.
