B & Q FTA Satellite System Query

    Hi folks,

On a recent trip to Northern Ireland, B & Q had a FTA system selling for £40. Seemed like a good deal (can't remember the spec of the Box). But the dish provided was 45cm. In the opinion of the experts on the Board, would a 45CM dish be large enough to use in Southern Ireland, more specifically the Midleton area of Cork?

Site is elevated with unobstructed sightlines in a detached residence.
    Any advice much appreciated!

    Cheers.

The B&Q here was doing 60cm dish.

45cm is an England size dish. Too small for some of the non-2D beams in the Rain, north or South. Try your local B&Q. The 60cm dish with Philex receiver was under €70 inc Irish VAT in Limerick. I'm using the dish on a Fortec star and the Philex with a 110cm triax+ Moteck motor setup.

    Thanks Watty,

Just the advice I needed - I'm in Cork and anytime I've been to B&Q they were sold out, just have to try my luck again!

    Cheers
