    Hey guys

It's been noticed that since Mike left this forum's been without a moderator at all (and interestingly the place didn't go on fire which is really impressive from all of you as members)

Furet's agreed to take over as moderator. he's new so cut him some slack. We're pleased he's taken on the role as obviously Infrastructure is an important part of the country that's falling apart around it:)

There was a small fire one night but a regular poster, who shall remain nameless, ranted at it for a while and it went out.

    Good Luck Furet!

Good Luck Furet, all I can say is you spotted several times that this forum needed more moderation.

The right man for the job I reckon.

Great to see the right man get the job. Your contributions in both this forum and the Commuting & Transport forum have been excellent, so I believe it's only fitting that you get this position.

    Best of luck, :)

Maybe having no moderator effects posters like no traffic lights influences driver behaviour?

this moderator position filled by Furet is very welcome and hopefully with his very wise and articulated postings will lead the infastructure forum in the right direction.

Does that mean I have to be nice to Furet and not insult him for constantly playing Oasis in his road videos? :D

Best of luck in your new position.

Furet - I echo the above comments about you being a good choice as moderator, and wish you the best. Thank you for giving your time to this.

As I've said before, I think this forum will be a very useful place for researchers in the future who will be interested to see the discussions which are taking place during an unprecedented time of (particularly) road-building in this country.

It appears if I post I get a thanks, so whoring :P

Getting back to reality, Furet seems to be the perfect choice here, important contributor, manages not to lose it in discussion, should be able to keep us all 'under control' so to speak.

Ah. So all the compliments are only the honeyed words of thanks whores. I should have known better: Flattery is the food of fools after all!
That said, I gather threads like this are all part of the boards tradition.

The puns came hard and fast in the mod forum too:

I've been "railroaded", according to Victor.
Onkel wished me a safe journey on this "new road".
OscarBravo hopes the modship won't "take too great a toll" on me.
And Ponster said a few words on Infrastructure users in general, remarking that "they're a weird lot - especially the lads who go around the country taking photos of unfinished motorways".

I'm a walking advertisment now too (check out the new sig ), trying to busy the board up a bit!

Well done Furet!:) Great choice for Mod.

    I'm a Mod on Gaire - it's a thankless task, especially when you're accused of being in a "clique" by disguntled/jealous posters.
