Two out of P1, P2 & P3?

Can someone help? Have to decide in the next couple of days which two subjects I'm going to continue with.

Anyone any experience of these subjects, are they purely theory, do any of them compliment each other which may make them easier to get through?

    P1 exam in Monday
    P2 exam is Tuesday
    P3 exam is Wednesday

Should I reflect these exam dates in my decision ie take the Monday & Wednesday option?

I shared a house with a guy who did ACCA and I can remember him going on and on about 'P2'. I think you should worry about the subject rather than the day its on. I think its the equivalent of the MABF in the ACA FAEs as in its the one that people struggle with the most.

My house mate went to Independent Colleges and I went to Chartered Grind School and it seems to be the same lecturers for both. I found them to be excellent and really approachable so maybe you should direct your question to them.

My other half just conpleted his ACCA's and found P2 very difficult - it took a couple of goes to get it.
I have spoken to a couple of other who said this as well and wished they had avoided it like the plague.

I'm ACA so I haven't any personal experience

A lot of people take P1 and P3 together as there is some cross over. Both are nearly all theory based.

P2 is a nightmare !!!! Good one to take on its own.

That's what I was considering doing. Still have to work full time and I don't get study leave so have to plan ahead!

Just completed P2 and P3 in June, P2 has a huge workload v little time to do anything else, I would recommend doing P1 and P3 and maybe P2 on its own, as mentioned P1 and P3 are all theory.

Does anyone know where I can get grinds in P2....just failed it and really want to get it the next time.....or can you recommend any good revision courses??

    Hi,

I completed P1, P2, P3 and P7 in the June 09 exams - and I would definitely recommend that if you are going to do 2 exams to do P1 and
P3 together, and leave P2 to a separate sitting- its very hard to study P2 with other subjects - as you'll find that all your study time seems to be taken up by it!!

It was alot of work alright - I took some time out and did them full-time, but I really thought that I would be doing P2 again - but thankfully I got them all.

Do p2 and a either p1 or p3 because it is good to do one theory and one practical.

Please can someone give me some advice from previous experience whether I should take P1 or P3 with my F8? Also, any good lecturers for either P1 or P3. I am based in Galway but will consider any college anywhere if the lecturer is good!

    Thanks guys!

You should do P1 & F8 together. BPP is good place to go. Definetly for F8

    Thanks anna08

I was thinking along those lines too. is there any lecturer you know of thats good

Shaun Brown in BPP is excellent for F8. I did this subject by home study and his revision course pulled everything together and definitely helped me pass!

I have heard he is a very good lecturer and classes can be entertaining. Could you recommend anyone for P1 and P3. I dont find the Galway BPP lecturers very good. Thats only my opinion tho.

Ive only ever gone to BPP , I had Martin Coboy for P1 but I think he is at Griffith College now. And I just passed P3 with Owen O Reilly who is also excellent.

P1 and P3 actually overlap a bit, both quite doable.

P2 is a c&nt and really best sat alone as theres loads in it and this is not easy sh%t!

I've opted to do P1 & P3 and indeed started last Monday. I think I'll take P2 on its own in the June sitting.

I think you did right, I made the ballsup of not starting early enough with my P2 study. I recommend putting a few extra hours into this one as its by far one of the toughest. I found it the toughest anyway.

Liam Doran in Independent Colleges is by far the best P2 lecturer
