If you want to see the riders, yes, Powerscourt Ritz Carlton is the place to be, as they will not be stopping after they leave the start line. You will be not be able to drive there is you are planning to. They will be 'slowish' around Enniskerry as the 'depart reel' of in the village square itself.

If you want to see them twice, riding then on the ' steep bit' to From Enniskerry to Glencree ( between Powerscourt and the Summerhill hotel sign ) is probably the best place to be. the riders are supposed to sign on and be introduced at Powerscourt's Ritz Carlton from after 9 ish. I also think there will be no shop at the start, but I am not sure.

afaik, and according to previous years, people have been able to 'get close' to the riders. This year could be the same, for most of the riders anyway.

From my experience of the last 2 years there should be good access with the possible exception on the biggest names who generally stay in their motor homes, cycle briskly to the sign on and back until it is time to assemble at the start. In Kilkenny 2 years ago there was incredible access at the start and the highlight for me was the way the Schleck brothers were so accessible and really good with anyone that approached them. At the time of course they were not as widely recognised as they would be now.

I was there this evening and the staff said access to the public tomorrow was "no problem" as long as you were in the grounds before 8am. The main gate to Powerscourt will close at 9am and there will be a "lockdown" till about 10.30.
