I don't know about hot parties (there probably are judging by the noise), but Sitges is a beautiful old town. Not sure i'd describe it as a "resort"...

I was in san sebastian and enjoyed it but am aiming at something a little livelier this time.

Your Costa Dorada package, through Bookaholiday, appears to be located in Salou/La Pineda. These are located down the coast from Sitges, and are more family oriented(possibly NOT your scene?).

Salou is a lager lout filled dump, stay clear.
Sitges is nice, can be busy though and the beaches are small.

Try Cambrils a nice town about a half hour south of salou.

Try costa Brava if your hiring a car, about 90mins north of Barca, much nicer.
Close to Girona,

I stayed is this town, flew Ryanair to Girona and hired a car.
