Entertaining Yourself

After you guys are done making **** jokes, i was wondering about the silly things that people have done to entertain themselves.

After being abandoned in Bristol airport by Ryanair for 8 hours on my way back from the Banksy exhibit I had the inspired idea of drawing a load of rather cubic cocks on the Etch-a-Sketches that they had for sale in the shop.

So, when trapped with little to do, in an environment that allows you to do very little...what do you do?

I used to play tracksuit bingo. Just crossing off different variations of tracksuits you see while you are waiting. Good if you have a boring class and there's a non-uniform day.
Guess you can use it in other places as well.

If I'm bored at home, then on one of my instruments. Anywhere else, quietly sing to myself, count things (always good when you've finished an exam - count tiles on the ceilings or number of lights), make up stories in my head.

Anything to pass the time really.

I was bored and there was no heating, so I blowtorched a whole can of Lynx. Room was definitely warmer afterwards. Funny smell though.

I count the tiles in a room or the cracks on the pavement. Yeah, I do like to count things. :D

I start counting the number of letters in individual words that come to my head.
    1 5 8 3 6 2 7 2 10 5 4 4 2 2 4 for example.
    For example is 3 7.

I have a remarkable ability to sit in one place and do nothing. I'll have no trouble sitting in a chair for 3 hours just day dreaming.

    Counting is a favourite,
looking around at objects and making materials lists,
working out exactly how things are made or operate (mechanical means only),
looking at wheels turning - wondering what the optimum weight and size flywheel the engine should have to run the wheels.
working out volumes - concrete in floors, bricks in buildings, etc.,

    endless fun, really

Peoplewatch. It's amazing what you notice and pick up on or what signals people don't realise they are giving off.

I watch deep people doing deep things that I could never fathom.

Then I just try and nap, while waiting.

I'm quite happy people watching, particularly trying to make up back stories or pretending what conversations people are having.

That sounds very weird reading that back...

Im a big fan of counting things myself..

Or if im in a big building or in one that has a lot of people I imagine what I would do if some disaster was to happen..zombie invasion..terrorists and the like you know...

People watching and counting seem to be big favourites.

I tend to write a lot of music in my head these days, then try and keep it in there till i get home.

I take drugs and watch people like you, then I write songs too.

Sometimes I make films or write scripts for films.

When one gets bored who knows what crazy things can happen.

When I am traveling (and I do A LOT) I always bring a number of things with me.

    1. A Sony E-Book reader (Has 900+ books on it)
    2. A small (linux based) Acer notebook.
    3. PSP loaded with music, audio books, films and games.

I've been stuck in too many airports, strange places and work areas, not to have learned a few lessons on how to deal with boredom.

I can actually do that, got board in business studies one day years ago and taught it to myself in letters and then phonetically too. Learned "How much is that doggy in the window" backwards too for some reason. I taught myself the alphabet in sign language a while ago too while I was bored and had nothing to do for a day.

Man, I really need a hobby or something :D

Hardly cool, but would be useful if I were ever to be pulled over by the cops for drink driving (although probably not much use with the fact that I don't have a drivers licence)

Ah don't get me started on that fecking dinosaur, I was subjected to years of that crap babysitting my kid sister, I can still remember the damned songs after all these years

EDIT: I have if all the raindrops were lemondrops and gumdrops stuck in my head now, I'm blaming you novella, I'll get you for this! :(

Oh, what a rain that would be!
Standing outside with my mouth open wide,
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!

    What a great song! :)

I usually take a large shíte in the most comfortable cludgie I can find.

If I am pissed off big time with the delay I may indulge in a bit of top decking but airports tend not to have cisterns so it's the Bonjella necklace.

Nice ripe solid turd on the rim and close down the seat on her.

Once in the Gold Circle lounge in Heathrow I packed a waste bucket in the cube and shook a bag of planters dry roasted on it.

    Looked Ace!

I hate flight delays, makes me verrrrry irate.

Ususally when I'm on my own at home, I imagine what would happen if a person burst through the front/back door. What would I use as a weapon? How would I react?. . .

Same if I'm in public places. What would I do if there was a holdup? Where could I escape? Can I move stealthly through the shop undetected?

Sticking with stealth movements. When I'm walking around I wonder if the person in front of me can feel my presence. Do they know I'm there?

You know, normal stuff. . .
