Hi guys, taught I'd set up this for all the new enterprise computing students or existing one's. Seeing as we're all going to be stuck in boring maths lectures together we might as well get to no one another. I'm Michael.

Ye from what I heard it is anyway... What did you think of your first year, what did you cover?

Ye from what I heard it is anyway... What did you think of your first year, what did you cover?

The EC specific modules we had were:

Computer Systems (stuff like how a computer works, PC components, number systems such as binary, hex, octal etc.)
    Web Design (html, xml)
Digital World (range of topics, generally you try out some software and then write an essay about it, basically this is a crash course to various concepts of computing)
Networks & Internet (range of topics too, stuff such as subnetting, CIDR notation, general networking)
Introduction to Operating Systems (types of OS', OS tasks, functions of an OS)
    Web Programming (Javascript)
    Introduction to Marketing (marketing...)
IT Mathematics (pretty much higher level maths)

You can also choose to do programming 1 in semester one which is basic Java programming (having already tried my hand at CA I chose not to do this module again since I already passed it, but imo it's of far more value to you then Digital World which is the EC alternative module) and you need to do this module if you decide to switch to CA.

I have heard them say the module choice will be a bit different this time and a few other changes. Final list should be published on registration schedules soon enough.

Someone asked what we covered last year, changes are entirely possible I suppose. Would be interested to see what they'd change...
