    http://www.hotpress.com/Josh%20Ritter/news/Josh%20Ritter%20announces%20club%20tour./5738550.html
Following on from his orchestral manoeuvres here during the summer, Josh Ritter strips things down when he returns to Ireland in October with The Love Canon String Band (mandolin, upright bass and acoustic guitar) for an extensive club tour.

The centerpiece is respective Golden Age Of Radio, Hello Starling and Animal Years nights in Whelan’s (21 to 23) where you’ll also be able to hear tracks from his upcoming sixth album, which will be out in early 2010.

Other stop offs include The Pavilion, Cork (October 15); Balor Theatre, Ballybofey (17); Empire Music Hall, Belfast (18); Riverbank Hotel, Wexford (20); SET, Kilkenny (24); and Clary Church, Sligo (25).

October 9 also sees the 2CD Collectors Edition re-release of The Animal Years, with a ton of bonus cuts, videos and acoustic versions.

Cheers ceegee, what are the dates for the Whelans gig?
Love the Golden Age CD. Wasn't too impressed with the last CD The Animal Years though.

    Wednesday 21st: Golden Age set
    Thursday 22nd: Hello Starling set
    Friday 23rd: Animal Years set

Didnt really like animal years either myself at first but it really grew on me especially after seeing some of the tracks live.
He's had another album since animal years as well, the historical conquests of josh ritter. quite different from the golden age era stuff but definitly worth checking out, came across this clip of him performing one of the tracks off conquests on letterman:

Just noticed the tickets went on sale. I picked up two for the Friday night show. I presume we'll get a special live airing of Girl in the War and Thin Blue Flame, which can only be musically orgasmic.

Great to hear. I was right up in the front row and we hung around for a bit afterwards. Josh then came out and he talked to everyone who had waited for a few minutes. He's a class act and very down to earth! Gave me an autograph too. Brilliant night.
