Green Docket

Hi, I was hoping someone here could help me out.
I finally got my dole through a few weeks ago, and I got a letter telling me where and when to get my first payment. I also said about signing the live register that I'd be issued with signing dockets each month, which I must sign, date and send back directly to the office.
The next day I received a green docket in the post which it said to sign and date toprove I hadn't been working and had been looking for work between the two dates quoted on the docket. Since the second date hadn't occurred yet I said I'd wait until that date until I did it.
That date was last wednesday the 12th of August. On that day I received another copy of the docket in the post. I filled it out and sent it directly to the office that was addressed on the original letter by post. Today I got the same slip again in the post, with the exact same dates, and when I went to pick up my payment at the PO was told that it wasn't there, and would be in tomorrow, which is strange as wednesday is my pay day.
Did I do the wrong thing with my green docket?
Thanks for the help (I have another hour before I'mable to head down to the office so I thought I'd ask here for help before I go)
