I'm a 30 year old guy and GIJOE was my favourite cartoon when i was a kid and as a result my favourite toys. I've a big old USA biscuit tin of GI JOE action figures from the 80's in my parents attic.

In light of the movie release etc are these now more saught after as collectables. Are they worth sticking on ebay or would they only be worth money if in original packaging etc? They are wasted in the attic and if they were worth a few recessionary euros that would be great

hi well if you had them on the original cards from 1980s they would be worth a few bob, loose not so much

the movie would make people look up a bit
but like me and you if your a fan from back in the day you would always be on the look out for g.i.joe vintage toys

i do collect g.i.joe so i would be interested in seeing what you got
i can forward my email if you dont mind for pictures
i can make you an offer if you like no problem,

condition and weapons and missing parts etc,etc all play a part in the price but if they are in good shape they are worth somthing

so dont bin them or give them to the dog! :-)

so just give us a shout and we can maybe do a deal

    hope it was a help

    cheers stone roses

It was known as Action Force for most of its lifetime over here, only becoming GI Joe comparatively late in the day. IIRC the animated series aired on both BBC and RTÉ as Action Force and was repeated on Super Channel as GI Joe: A Real American Hero.

I always wanted GI Joe / Action force but never got any. Instead I had to settle for Dunnes Stores own brand cheapie "The Corps", which it turns out is still going strong.

I remember I was the only kid I knew who had the corps and pronounced it correctly. Everyone else said "The Corpse". It would go along like:

Me: "No, its not the corpse, its pronounced 'Core'"
Someone else: "No its called the corpse because they kill people"
Me: "No, its core, like the Marine Corps"
    Someone else: "The what now?"
Me:"The Marine Corps or the Air Corps"
    Someone else:"What?"
    Me:"You know, the Marine Corps"
Someone else:"Thats a different thing. The is the corpse because they kill people"
    Me:"I give up".

^^ Had a few of the corps as well, they were sh*t though!! their legs and arms would get loose in no time and they wouldn't be able to stand the weapons sucked too but they did the trick i suppose

lol @ all the broken crotches on those GI-Joes, man that brings back memories.
Broken thumbs too from forcing GI-Joes to hold He-Man weapons. :D

The best way is to post on Ebay or, if you don't want to spend a dime try craigslist or Kijiji.
