Designing floor joists

    Hey

Trying to find out what size floor joists to use. I sized them by the table in the Homebond manual, trouble is, there is a load bearing stud partition loading onto the floor too, perpendicular to the floor joists, which the table doesn't take account for.

I know the load per metre of the partition. How do I go about sizing the floor joists or do you just take whats in the table and go maybe 2 grades higher?

    Thanks

Just to bump your thread really, you might be looking at putting an I-Beam over the partition wall to take the load.

    Not my area though.
