Is it possible to sign up for UPC's services online without giving direct debit details? They specify that they can be paid in a number of ways (as long as you pay the €3 surcharge) but don't seem to provide any capability other than DD from the online order form?

not sure. i know we *almost* got a law that would forbid any company to incentivise a particular type of payment, but as usual the govt. made a big fuss about it at the time but failed to actually bring it into law when it came to the crunch.

Direct debit includes the use of credit cards right? or do you have to pay an extra 3 on top of your outstanding bill?
